Neither page used here names a Vanta headquarters, so none is stated. Buyers put these two on one shortlist because both show a trust center and both will draft a security questionnaire. The systems underneath are different. Conveyor’s categories in this directory are security questionnaires, AI-native and RFP response. Vanta’s category is security questionnaires, sitting on a GRC platform. Vanta’s questionnaire product makes no RFP response claim. Conveyor sells an AI RFP module for RFPs, RFIs and RFQs beside the security workflow, and it does not market a dedicated DDQ product. Named customers on Vanta’s site include GitHub, Duolingo, Intercom, Samsara, Atlassian, Ramp, Snowflake and Icelandair. Questionnaire-page names include Restaurant365 and SonarSource. The strengths to concede are real. You are not maintaining a second library if the policies that satisfy the auditor are the policies the questionnaire cites. Vanta says it pulls data from 400+ tools, across cloud, identity, HR, task management, CRM and communication. That catalog is a genuine strength for a team whose evidence already lives in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, GitHub, Jira and Okta, all of which are on the named integration list. Conveyor is aimed at InfoSec and presales teams at B2B software companies that answer customer security reviews and want buyers to self-serve documents. Named customers include Zapier, Zendesk, Sumo Logic, Carta, Alteryx, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, dbt Labs and Lucid. The company started in 2021 as a spin-out of Aptible. The about page records a Seed round, a $12.5 million Series A in 2023, and a $20 million Series B in 2025\. Strengths to concede on this side: every drafted answer cites its source, confidence scores point at exceptions, the trust center and the questionnaire share a library, and Enterprise pricing does not add a licence when you pull in another expert. If you do not run audits in Vanta, buying Vanta only to answer questionnaires means buying the platform around the module. Vanta does sell Questionnaire Automation standalone or as an add-on: 144 questionnaires a year, or 288 on the Advanced version. That path exists. It is still a quote after a demo, and the standalone page is the place to ask whether you inherit Trust Center, evidence collection, or only the answering module. Conveyor’s Enterprise quote is the whole questionnaire and trust-center platform, usage-metered, with integrations included. ## What “answered” means in each product Vanta AI takes a first pass on every question. It pulls exact matches from the knowledge base and generates the rest for review. Vanta says it answers 80% or more of questions automatically, with results varying by knowledge base. That 80% is Vanta’s published claim, not an independent measurement, and the same sentence says results vary. Keep both halves. The page also describes answers as well-cited. Reviewers assign questions or whole questionnaires, comment, and reply in Slack. Approval workflows with owners and approvers for each review stage sit in Advanced Questionnaire Automation, the 288-a-year tier. Stage-by-stage approvers are called out on the Advanced tier in the vendor’s key features. If your security policy says two people sign a customer-facing answer, price Advanced, not the first tier that merely drafts. Conveyor extracts questions and drafts every answer from approved sources. Citations point at source documents. Confidence scores flag human review. Assignees, collaborators and routing groups sit on the questionnaire, with auto-tagged reviewers and an audit trail of who reviewed each answer. A multi-stage approval chain is not described, which is the mirror image of Vanta’s Advanced workflow. An agent can pick the request up from Slack, a CRM or ticketing. If those workbooks are half your year, ask Vanta to open one in the demo, and ask Conveyor to open one that is not in the original layout. Each vendor’s documented limit is the file to bring. Conveyor’s knowledge library has verification status, curators, tags and product lines, plus an AI Librarian that flags outdated content. Vanta’s knowledge base is previous questionnaires plus documents and policies in Vanta, with synced policies and custom tags for product, region and industry. Custom tagging on the questionnaire product is listed with Advanced. A team with two products and three regions will feel that gate. ## Trust centers Both vendors offer a trust center with gated documents. Conveyor’s trust center is the free plan: 10 Trust Center credits a month, up to 15 documents and 15 knowledge-base Q&As, Conveyor-branded clickwrap NDA, watermark, no questionnaire automation, no integrations. The paid product adds a buyer-facing AI agent on the same knowledge. Vanta’s Trust Center, described on its product page, includes gated documents, NDA collection and an optional AI chatbot for buyers. Essentials includes a Trust Center. Professional lists an Advanced Trust Center. Salesforce, HubSpot, DocuSign and Ironclad appear on Vanta’s trust-center integration notes. Conveyor lists those names too (Salesforce, HubSpot, DocuSign, Ironclad), and says there is no charge for integrations on Enterprise. The operational question is whether the document a buyer downloads is the document the draft cited. Both vendors describe a shared body of content. Test it. The standalone questionnaire product repeats the 144 and 288 numbers. Count your inbound reviews for the last twelve months before you map a tier. A team at 30 questionnaires a year does not fit Plus’s 25 without the upgrade. A team at 200 does not fit Professional’s 144. Conveyor will not give you that ladder. It will give you a credit conversation and unlimited seats. That is easier if headcount is the scary line on the budget, and harder if finance wants a unit price per questionnaire before the call. On cost, use the reviewers’ words. G2’s May 2026 review summary says reviewers found the user interface disorganized, the AI features overly relied upon, and customer support slow or lacking in some areas. Vanta: SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, with the certificate and report available on the Trust Center, per the security page. The record also lists ISO 42001, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS and CCPA. Hosting is a genuine strength relative to Conveyor’s US-only content note. The US region is app.vanta.com. The EU region is AWS in Frankfurt, app.eu.vanta.com, announced on Vanta’s EU data centre page. An Australian region exists as well. The help center article on EU and Australia regions says a regional tenant does not guarantee that all supporting services or subprocessors operate only in that region. Read that sentence into the security review. Frankfurt is the data centre claim. It is not, by Vanta’s own help text, a promise that every subprocess stays in Frankfurt. Vanta’s public subprocessor story in this record is thinner than Conveyor’s named list of 27\. The security page links a subprocessor list at trust.vanta.com/subprocessors, which renders client-side. Amazon Web Services is named for infrastructure, KMS, and the Frankfurt centre. Pull the current list in the DPA. Do not assume the link’s client-rendered table matches a screenshot from last quarter. Integrations to name, without pretending either list is complete: Conveyor lists Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira, Zendesk, DocuSign, Ironclad, Google Drive, SharePoint, Notion, Confluence, Front, an MCP server, a public API and webhooks. Vanta is a compliance platform that meters a questionnaire module and can sell that module on its own. Conveyor’s genuine strengths are citations with confidence scores, a library shared with the trust center, a free trust center, unlimited users, and included integrations. Vanta’s genuine strengths are answers drawn from the same policies you use for audits, original-format import and export including portals, a large integration catalog, regional hosting in the US, Frankfurt and Australia, and a much larger review record (2,721 G2 reviews as of October 2026). If the audit platform decision is already Vanta, start there and check the questionnaire cap and the Advanced approval gate. If the audit platform is elsewhere, or you do not want one, Conveyor’s usage quote and trust center are the more direct buy. In either trial, change one policy and one stale answer, then see which draft your reviewer is willing to send. Conveyor, started in 2021, is a security-questionnaire and trust-center product: cited drafts, confidence scores, and a knowledge library shared with the trust center. Vanta, founded in 2018, is a compliance-automation platform. Questionnaire Automation is a module that drafts from your policies, documents and past questionnaires, and it is metered by plan. How much do Conveyor and Vanta cost? Conveyor has a free trust center (10 credits a month, up to 15 documents) and quotes Enterprise on usage with unlimited users. Vanta publishes no prices. Essentials, Plus, Professional and Enterprise are quoted after a demo. Questionnaire Automation is an add-on on Essentials, 25 questionnaires a year on Plus, and 144 a year on Professional. Can Vanta or Conveyor answer portal questionnaires? Both say they can. Conveyor uses a browser extension for portals such as OneTrust and Whistic, and it exports in the original format. Vanta says it imports questions from third-party portals, spreadsheets, DOCX and PDF files, then exports the finished file in the original format. Where is the data hosted? Conveyor's subprocessor notice says customer content is stored in the United States, and no EU region is named. Vanta runs a US region (app.vanta.com), an EU region on AWS in Frankfurt (app.eu.vanta.com), and an Australian region. Vanta's help center says a regional tenant does not guarantee that every supporting service stays in that region. Is there a free plan? Conveyor's Free plan is a trust center only. There is also a free trial of the AI. Vanta lists no free plan and no free trial. Pricing is personalized after a demo. Who should choose Conveyor or Vanta? Choose Conveyor if the product you need is questionnaire automation plus a trust center, with unlimited users and citations plus confidence scores. Choose Vanta if you already keep SOC 2 or ISO 27001 evidence in Vanta and you want questionnaire answers drawn from that same evidence, inside the annual questionnaire cap on your plan.
