## Security: ISO 27001, SOC 2, and regional hosting

Put Ignition and Nusii through the same three questions a security reviewer will ask: ISO 27001, SOC 2, and whether you can keep the tenancy in the US or the EU. Cells say **Not listed** when we could not find the claim on a public vendor page.

## Slack and Microsoft Teams

During a live questionnaire, SMEs get pinged in Slack or Teams, not in a vendor portal. Here is what Ignition and Nusii publish for those two connections.

## Subprocessors: the big three clouds, then the niche names

Compare Ignition and Nusii on AWS, Azure and GCP first. Then scan for niche processors a reviewer should pause on: third-party LLMs, session replay, or support that leaves the region you elected.

Here is the short version. [Ignition](/ignition) is a billing engine that happens to start with a proposal. [Nusii](/nusii) is a proposal tool that happens to take a payment at the end. If your revenue is recurring fees from the same clients month after month, Ignition was designed around you. If your revenue is a stream of one-off projects pitched to new clients, often in more than one language, Nusii fits better and costs a fraction as much.

Both publish their prices, both offer a 14-day trial, and neither answers RFPs or security questionnaires. The rest of this page is about the trade-offs between them, including the ones their pricing pages bury a little.

## Key takeaways

- **Different buyers:** Ignition targets accounting, bookkeeping and other professional-services firms that bill on recurring engagements. Nusii targets agencies, consultants and freelancers sending project proposals.
- **Entry price:** Nusii starts at $29/mo (Freelancer, one user, five active proposals). Ignition starts at $39/mo billed annually on Solo, which is limited to eligible US and Canadian solo firms; for everyone else the entry point is Core at $99/mo billed annually.
- **Languages:** Nusii is localized in 35 languages and handles multiple currencies and tax, a real advantage for agencies with international clients.
- **Billing depth:** Ignition runs ongoing invoicing and payment collection against the signed agreement. Nusii collects a payment via Stripe when the client accepts, on Agency and Business plans.
- **Ratings:** Ignition is rated 4.7/5 on Capterra (152 reviews); Nusii is rated 4.8/5 on Capterra (48 reviews) and 4.5/5 on G2 (24 reviews), all as of July 2026.
- **Limitations:** Nusii caps active proposals on its two cheaper plans and keeps multiple signers and permissions for Business. Ignition’s internal approvals and faster US ACH payouts sit on its upper plans.

## The one-question test

Ask yourself what happens the month after a client says yes.

At an accounting firm, a lot happens. The client owes a monthly bookkeeping fee, a quarterly BAS or sales-tax fee, and an annual return, each billed on its own schedule for years. Somebody has to invoice all of that and chase the payments. That is the work Ignition automates. Its service library lets each line carry a billing type (recurring, up-front, hourly or project-based), and once the engagement is signed the invoices and collections run themselves.

At a design or marketing agency, the month after a yes is mostly delivery. The proposal’s job was to win the project, look professional, get signed, and maybe take a deposit. Nusii is built for exactly that stretch, and it tries hard to stay out of the way while you do it.

If the honest answer to “what happens next month” is “we bill them again,” start with Ignition. If it is “we start the work,” start with Nusii.

Some firms sit in the middle. A bookkeeping practice that also sells one-off advisory projects, or a marketing agency on monthly retainers, could argue for either. In that case follow the money. Count how many invoices you send in a typical month and how many of them repeat. If most repeat, Ignition’s billing automation earns its price. If most are new deposits and project milestones, Nusii plus your existing invoicing tool will do the job for far less.

## Five jobs, side by side

### Writing the proposal

Nusii’s editor is deliberately plain. You build from templates and a content library of reusable sections, add pricing, and send a web link or PDF. Nusii’s own pricing page leans into this, arguing that the content of a proposal wins business, not flashy templates. Some customers agree; others have asked for more. Capterra reviews from 2016 to 2019 repeatedly request more design options and template variety, and one from July 2019 notes there were only two layout designs at the time.

Ignition proposals are built around services and prices pulled from the service library, plus the engagement terms that make the agreement enforceable. The words matter less than the structure. Ignition also lets you present options for the client to choose between inside one proposal. On Pro and above you can add videos and landing pages.

### Languages and currencies

This is Nusii’s clearest win. Proposals can be localized in 35 languages, and the product handles multiple currencies and tax on every plan. For a Madrid-based, self-funded company that has been serving agencies since 2013, it is no surprise that international clients get first-class treatment.

Ignition operates in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand, with local payment rails in each. That is broad for an accounting tool, but it reflects where its payments network runs rather than a multilingual proposal feature.

### Signing

Both include legally binding e-signatures. Nusii keeps multiple signatures for the Business plan at $129/mo, so a two-founder client on the Agency plan signs once. On Ignition, signer counts rise with the tier: Solo allows a single signature per proposal, Pro allows two, Pro+ allows ten.

### Getting paid

Nusii’s payment integration takes money through Stripe at the moment of acceptance, which suits deposits and fixed-fee projects. It is available on Agency and Business, not Freelancer.

Ignition’s whole design is getting paid repeatedly. Signed services generate invoices on their schedules, and Ignition collects by card or direct debit. It publishes clearing times. A US card payment reaches the firm in 1 to 3 business days. A US ACH debit takes 5 to 7 business days on Core and shortens to 2 to 3 on the Pro tiers for amounts under $5,000 ([Ignition’s clearing-times article, August 2026](https://support.ignitionapp.com/en/articles/3111334-payment-clearing-times)). Ignition also builds AML and KYC compliance checks into Core and above, which matters to accounting firms and means nothing to most agencies.

### Team control

Nusii’s permissions feature is Business-only, and the same plan lists versioning history as coming soon. Ignition’s internal proposal reviews and approvals arrive on Pro+ at $399/mo billed annually. Neither tool offers cheap governance. If you need a partner to approve every proposal before it goes out, you will pay for it on Ignition and you will not get a formal approval step on Nusii.

## What it costs, worked through

Verified pricing as of October 2026:

**Nusii.** Plan pricing with included users and active-proposal limits: Freelancer $29/mo (1 user), Agency $49/mo (3 users), Business $129/mo (5 users). 14-day free trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee. Annual billing costs ten months’ worth ($290, $490 and $1,290 a year). Extra seats cost $19 per user on Agency and $29 per user on Business. Freelancer allows 5 active proposals, Agency 20, and Business lists 50+.

**Ignition.** Plans priced by active clients and users, not per seat: Solo $39/mo billed annually ($49 monthly, US and Canada only, eligibility criteria apply), Core from $99/mo billed annually. 14-day free trial, no free plan. Pro is $229/mo and Pro+ is $399/mo on annual billing. Payment transaction fees are charged monthly on top.

Three scenarios make the gap concrete.

1. **A solo consultant.** Nusii Freelancer costs $290 a year. Ignition Solo costs $39 a month on annual billing, if you qualify: Ignition limits Solo to firms under $150,000 in annual revenue, with one user and 20 active clients, and requires a connected Xero or QuickBooks Online account and payments switched on.
2. **A four-person agency.** Nusii Agency covers three users, so add one seat at $19: about $68 a month on monthly billing. Ignition Core at $99/mo annually is the cheapest non-Solo plan, before any per-client overages.
3. **A ten-person accounting firm with a recurring book.** Nusii’s Business plan is five seats plus five more at $29, which is $274 a month, and it still won’t run recurring billing. Ignition is the logical buy here, and the plan will be set by your active client count.

The cost lesson: Nusii is cheap per user but rations active proposals; Ignition is expensive at the bottom but carries the whole billing workload.

## Integrations and stack fit

Nusii syncs natively with HubSpot, Pipedrive, Less Annoying CRM, OnePageCRM and Highrise, and connects to Slack, Stripe and Basecamp. Anything else runs through Zapier, Make, n8n, webhooks or the API. Nusii also documents an MCP server so you can drive it from an outside AI assistant.

Ignition integrates with the accounting stack instead: ledgers (Xero, QuickBooks Online, MYOB), payroll (Gusto), practice managers (Karbon, Financial Cents, FYI), plus Slack and Zapier.

Read those lists as a map of each buyer’s world. Nusii talks to sales CRMs. Ignition talks to ledgers and practice managers. A firm that lives in Xero and Karbon will find Nusii awkward, and an agency on HubSpot will find Ignition oddly accounting-shaped.

## Support, trials and getting out

The two companies treat commitment very differently, and it is worth knowing before you sign up.

Nusii is relaxed about it. Every plan is monthly unless you choose annual, every plan includes chat and email support, and the Business plan adds priority support. If you forget to cancel a trial and get charged, Nusii’s FAQ says to email support for a refund, and on top of that there is a 60-day money-back guarantee. For a small agency that has been burned by annual contracts before, that is a meaningful comfort.

Ignition’s support scales with the plan. Solo comes with email and in-app support, Pro promises a response within four hours, and Pro+ offers priority support with a one-hour response time; Enterprise adds a dedicated customer success manager. The exit terms are firmer. Ignition states there are no refunds for unused periods, on monthly or annual plans, and an annual subscription is collected 12 months in advance. When the 14-day trial ends without a subscription, the account goes on hold and accepted proposals stop generating invoices until you pay.

Neither approach is wrong. Ignition sits inside a firm’s billing system, so it behaves like infrastructure. Nusii sits at the front of a sales process, so it behaves like a tool you can pick up and drop. Just choose with your eyes open.

## Known issues and watch-outs

Each item is linked to its source, with the date it was checked or the dates of the reviews it draws on.

**Ignition**

- A formal review and approval step before a proposal is sent needs Pro+, the $399-a-month annual tier ([plan comparison on ignitionapp.com](https://www.ignitionapp.com/pricing), checked October 2026).
- On Core, a US ACH payment can take a full working week or more (5 to 7 business days) to reach you, and Ignition’s own article warns that its payout timings carry no guarantee ([clearing times, last updated August 2026](https://support.ignitionapp.com/en/articles/3111334-payment-clearing-times)).
- Going over your plan’s active-client limit adds a per-client monthly fee billed in arrears, plans do not downgrade automatically, and unused monthly or annual periods are not refunded ([Ignition pricing FAQ](https://www.ignitionapp.com/pricing), October 2026).
- Capterra reviewers from August 2023 through January 2026 return to two complaints: client payments taking days to land, and costs that climb as features are added ([Capterra reviews](https://www.capterra.com/p/140861/Practice-Ignition/reviews/)).

**Nusii**

- Active proposals are capped at 5 on Freelancer and 20 on Agency ([Nusii pricing](https://nusii.com/pricing/), October 2026). A busy month can hit that ceiling.
- Multiple signatures and team permissions are only on Business, and versioning history is listed there as coming soon ([Nusii pricing](https://nusii.com/pricing/), October 2026).
- Native CRM sync is limited to five CRMs; Salesforce users go through Zapier, Make or the API ([Nusii integrations](https://nusii.com/integrations), October 2026).
- Capterra reviews from November 2016 to July 2019 ask for more design options, more modern templates and a richer text editor ([Capterra reviews](https://www.capterra.com/p/138512/Nusii/reviews/)). Those reviews are old, so test the current editor yourself.

## Neither one answers an RFP

Both tools write proposals you initiate. Neither can take in a buyer’s RFP document, a vendor due diligence questionnaire, or a security questionnaire in Excel, and neither has an answer library built for question-by-question responses. That is a category boundary, and for their buyers it is the right one: an agency pitching a website rebuild has no use for SIG Lite automation.

If your agency or firm starts receiving formal tenders with hundreds of questions, keep your proposal tool for pitches and add a response platform for the tenders. [AutoRFP.ai](/autorfp-ai), [Loopio](/loopio) and [Responsive](/responsive) are built for that inbound work.

## Who should pick Ignition

- Your firm bills the same clients every month and wants invoicing and collection to follow the signed engagement automatically.
- You work in accounting or bookkeeping and need AML and KYC checks, Xero or QuickBooks sync, and a practice-management handoff.
- You have enough active clients to justify Core or above, and possibly Pro+ for approvals.
- You operate in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia or New Zealand, where Ignition’s payment rails run.

## Who should pick Nusii

- You are a freelancer, consultant or small agency pitching projects and want a clean proposal out the door quickly.
- Your clients span languages and currencies.
- You want a low monthly bill, a 60-day money-back guarantee, and no annual lock-in.
- You use HubSpot or Pipedrive and want proposal activity posted back to the CRM.

## Verdict

These tools only look similar from a distance. Ignition is the stronger choice for recurring billing and accounting-firm compliance, and it charges accordingly. Nusii is the stronger choice for simple, multilingual project proposals at a low price, and it is honest about being simple.

Pick Ignition if the proposal is the start of a long billing relationship. Pick Nusii if the proposal is the pitch and the signature is the finish line. And if you are a small agency wondering whether Ignition’s billing automation is worth double the monthly bill or more, it probably isn’t until your recurring revenue makes chasing invoices someone’s actual job.
