# 6 RFP and DDQ software for financial services

Financial firms answer two kinds of paperwork: due diligence questionnaires from investors and clients, and vendor-risk questionnaires whenever technology changes hands. The tools that fit keep an approved answer for every regulated statement, show where it came from, and make the reviewer’s sign-off visible.

## At a glance

Starting prices and security listings come from each vendor profile, where every fact links to the page it was read from. “Not listed” means we could not find it published, not that the vendor lacks it.

## What makes financial services questionnaires different

Due diligence in finance repeats on a schedule. An asset manager sees the same investor DDQ every year with small changes, frequently built on an industry template such as the ILPA DDQ for private equity or the AIMA questionnaire for hedge funds. A tool earns its keep by spotting what changed since last year and flagging answers whose source document has moved on.

Banks and insurers sit on the other side of the table too. Regulators expect them to assess technology suppliers, so a fintech or software company selling into a bank receives long vendor-risk questionnaires, frequently based on the SIG from Shared Assessments. In the EU, the DORA rules on ICT third-party risk have added to that load.

Wording carries more risk here than in most industries. A sentence about performance, fees, custody or data handling can turn into a disclosure problem if it drifts from the approved version. Look for answer libraries with owners and review dates, and for drafting that cites its source so compliance can check a claim instead of rewriting it.

## Tools that fit, and why

Each tool is listed because its published profile shows evidence of fit, quoted below. Open the profile for pricing detail, security sources and the full list of limitations.

AU![AutoRFP.ai logo](https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=autorfp.ai&sz=128)

### [AutoRFP.ai](/autorfp-ai)

**Why it fits:** Positions itself on the structured Word and Excel files finance teams receive, covers DDQs, and shows the source behind each drafted line, which helps when compliance signs off.

Best for: and finance teams

**Check before buying:** Built for structured, source-cited answers rather than creative writing on long-form responses. For persuasive multi-page narrative, AutogenAI is built for that prose job.

IN![Inventive AI logo](https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=inventive.ai&sz=128)

### [Inventive AI](/inventive-ai)

**Why it fits:** Its sourced research notes describe DDQ automation for investor (LP) questionnaires as well as customer and vendor DDQs, with answers exported back into the original file.

Sourced research note: DDQ automation for investor (LP) and customer/vendor DDQs

**Check before buying:** Usage fees per RFP and security questionnaire sit on top of a platform fee from $10K/year; final quotes need a sales call.

LO![Loopio logo](https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=loopio.com&sz=128)

Who it is for: financial services

**Check before buying:** No public prices: the entry Foundations plan includes 10 seats, and multi-step reviews start one tier up on Enhanced.

OM![Ombud logo](/logos/ombud.png)

### [Ombud](/ombud)

**Why it fits:** Aimed at enterprise and regulated-finance teams with formal proposal operations, with approval workflows for multi-reviewer sign-off.

RO![RocketDocs logo](https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=rocketdocs.com&sz=128)

### [RocketDocs](/rocketdocs)

Named customers: J.P. Morgan, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank

**Check before buying:** No free trial; evaluations are scoped only for qualified opportunities.

## How to choose DDQ and RFP software for a financial firm

- **DDQ file handling:** Test multi-tab Excel and long Word DDQs, and check that answers go back into the counterparty’s own file with its formatting intact.
- **Answer governance:** Approved answers need an owner, a review date and a history, so stale fund or policy language does not slip into a new submission.
- **Source visibility:** Compliance reviewers move faster when each drafted answer shows the document it came from.
- **Where the data sits:** Check hosting region, subprocessors and whether the vendor sends content to outside AI providers. Most profiles here list those details with sources.
- **Sign-off:** Map legal, compliance and investment owners to approval steps before the trial, then see whether the tool can enforce them.

## What this list does not prove

A listing here means a vendor’s own material, research notes or named customers point to financial services work. It does not confirm support for a particular DDQ template, regulator or jurisdiction. Run your latest real DDQ through the tool and have compliance review the output.

We list a tool only when its published profile supports the fit, and we publish a page only once at least three tools qualify. Read the [research and scoring methodology](/methodology) or [send a correction](/contact).

## Frequently asked questions

What is the best DDQ software for asset managers?

Tribble describes a dedicated DDQ workflow for asset managers, and Inventive AI’s research notes describe DDQ automation for investor (LP) questionnaires. Loopio and RocketDocs answer DDQs from a governed library used by large financial firms. Test each with your latest investor DDQ.

Which RFP tools do banks use?

Among the tools here, RocketDocs names J.P. Morgan, Bank of America and Deutsche Bank as customers, and Loopio names Barclays and Goldman Sachs. A customer logo shows adoption somewhere in the firm, not fit for your team, so ask for a reference in a similar role.

Should a financial firm require SOC 2 or ISO 27001 from its response tool?

Usually yes, because the tool will hold regulated answers and client information. Each profile lists the vendor’s ISO 27001 and SOC 2 status with the page it was read from. Ask for the current report rather than relying on a badge.

What is the difference between an investor DDQ and a vendor-risk questionnaire?

An investor DDQ asks a fund manager about strategy, operations and governance before an allocation. A vendor-risk questionnaire asks a supplier about security and resilience before a bank buys from it. Many firms answer both, and some tools handle both from one library.

Can AI answer regulated DDQ questions?

It can draft them from approved sources. A person in compliance should still approve anything about performance, fees or regulatory status. Prefer tools that show the source for each draft and flag questions they cannot support.

How should a financial firm trial DDQ software?

Use last year’s DDQ with its approved answers and this year’s version. Check which changed questions the tool catches, how it handles a superseded policy, and whether the export matches the counterparty’s template.
