# Kantiv review: pricing, features and alternatives (2026)

## Quick answer

Kantiv is AI-native RFP and proposal software for AEC marketing and proposal teams that want past projects and resumes matched to each RFx without digging through shared drives. Kantiv does not publish a price, so buying is quote-only. Check before buying: The Go/No-Go and Win Theme agents were listed as coming soon in the October 2026 agents launch.

## The verdict up front

Kantiv is the most AEC-specific tool in this directory, and that is the whole point. If you run marketing or proposals at an AEC firm, it understands the stuff generic RFP tools fumble: SF-330s built from resumes tied to project history, plus a photo library nobody has tagged since 2019\. If you answer SaaS security questionnaires, it is not for you, and it does not pretend to be.

The catch is that you buy it blind on price. There is no public price list, and every quote goes through a demo. Two of its newest decision-support agents were still marked “coming soon” at launch in October 2026.

This review is based on reading Kantiv’s own site, including its press releases and data processing agreement, plus its Trust Center and third-party company profiles, all as of October 2026\. Nobody here has run a pursuit in it, so the checklist at the end is how we would pressure-test it.

## Kantiv used to be Joist AI

If the name is new to you, the product might not be. Kantiv announced on June 2, 2026 that Joist AI was rebranding to Kantiv, and the company moved its domain from joist.ai to kantiv.com. The old domain now redirects. Its “our story” page tells existing customers that contracts and pursuit history are where they left them, with the same team behind the platform.

The rebrand release says the company was founded as Joist AI in 2022 and is headquartered in San Diego, California. Co-founder and CEO Rohan Jawali is a former Hensel Phelps engineer, per the same release. On funding, CB Insights lists SignalFire and Building Ventures as investors, and Caplight lists a seed round with Diverge (a Hensel Phelps company) among the backers. Neither page we read showed a round size, so we are not quoting one.

The release also explains the new positioning. Kantiv wants to be “pursuit intelligence” rather than a proposal generator. In practice that means two jobs: keep the firm’s knowledge clean, then use it to write proposals and make go/no-go calls.

## What it actually does

Kantiv organizes around a knowledge graph. Instead of a Q&A library, it connects people to projects, projects to clients, and clients to past pursuits. The homepage demo counts projects and resumes side by side, which tells you what the product thinks your content looks like. For AEC firms, that is the right shape. Your proof is past projects and the people who delivered them, not a list of canned answers.

When an RFx lands, you upload it into a Workspace. Kantiv reads the requirements and deadlines, then builds a storyboard outline from the scope. It also recommends people and projects from the knowledge base and generates a first draft grounded in work the firm has actually delivered.

Before submission, Kantiv runs a compliance check against every requirement in the RFx and flags anything unaddressed. Missing one line in an SOQ can knock out an otherwise strong submission, so this is one of the more practical features on the list.

There is also a draft-review mode. You upload any draft proposal and get section-by-section recommendations on weak alignment to requirements or thin past performance.

Workspaces can be marked private, which keeps a confidential pursuit out of search and generation until you open it up. The Workspaces FAQ says each pursuit lives in its own space with its own RFx and collaborators, and that Workspaces is included in the base platform for every user.

## How drafting and the knowledge base work

Content gets in two ways. You can upload proposals, project profiles, resumes and images directly. Kantiv also integrates with SharePoint and Egnyte for files, plus Deltek, so content can flow in without a migration project.

The second route is more interesting. For knowledge that lives in people’s heads, Kantiv’s data collection agent calls staff through a browser link and asks structured questions. The agents page describes the principal talking for about ten minutes, with marketing reviewing the proposed field-level updates before anything is written. Anyone who has chased a project principal for a two-paragraph description will appreciate the idea, though you should check how often your principals pick up.

Images get special treatment. Image intelligence auto-tags photos by what is in them and links staff photos to their people records. For any image, you can see every document it has appeared in. When it is time to lay out the document, images drag straight into InDesign. AEC marketers live in InDesign, so this matters more than another chatbot.

On drafting quality, Kantiv’s line is that every output traces back to the firm’s real work, and that agent updates are cited and routed through human review. The October 2026 Kantiv Agents launch added a Style Guide Agent that flags off-brand language inline and cites the rule it broke. An Image Compliance Agent checks visuals against brand standards, and a Client Intelligence Agent summarizes every RFP a client has issued alongside every proposal you have sent them.

Kantiv also says it routes tasks across multiple LLMs rather than relying on one model. Its Trust Center lists both OpenAI and Anthropic as subprocessors, which fits that claim.

## Security and compliance posture

Kantiv’s posture is stronger than you might expect from a vertical tool. The Trust Center lists ISO/IEC 27001:2022 alongside SOC 2, plus the cloud-focused ISO/IEC 27017 and 27018 standards. The homepage badge says SOC 2 Type II, while the Trust Center lists SOC 2 without a type, so confirm the report type when you request it. The Trust Center also lists a CMMC certification without stating a level, which is worth a direct question if you do defense work.

The data processing agreement names AWS as the data center, with multi-AZ deployments and regular disaster recovery testing. The Trust Center mentions SSO support and role-based access control. A public hosting region is not stated.

The listed subprocessors are AWS and the two model providers, plus HubSpot and PostHog. The FAQ says content is analyzed transiently and never used to train models outside your account.

## Pricing and how to buy it

There is no public pricing. The FAQ says to book a demo for a Kantiv Enterprise quote, and that each implementation is configured for the firm with a dedicated customer success team.

The “pricing” page is really an ROI calculator. You enter pursuits per month and hours per pursuit, then team size and hourly cost. It assumes a 25% reduction in per-pursuit hours and notes that results are based on the platform only, with add-ons excluded. That footnote is the only public hint that some capabilities cost extra. Ask which ones.

Kantiv’s FAQ estimates the investment pays for itself within the first few months. That is the vendor’s own estimate. Run your own numbers before you repeat it to a principal.

## Where it falls short

Price opacity is the obvious one. You cannot budget from the website, and you will need a demo before you get a number.

Some of the newest agents are not shipped yet. The October 6, 2026 launch release lists the Go/No-Go Agent and the Win Theme Agent as coming soon. If those decision tools are why you are interested, get a date in writing.

Add-ons exist outside the base platform, per the ROI calculator’s footnote, and the site does not list them.

The scope is deliberately narrow. Kantiv is built around an AEC data model and AEC formats like SF-330s. That is a strength for its audience and a hard stop for everyone else.

## Who should shortlist it, and who should skip it

Shortlist Kantiv if you are a proposal manager or marketing lead at an AEC firm producing SF-330s and SOQs on two-week turnarounds. It is aimed at teams whose real bottleneck is finding the right projects and resumes, not typing faster. It is especially worth a look if your content lives in Deltek or Egnyte and your image library is a mess. The customer list on its site (Mortenson, Robins & Morton, Benesch, Woodard & Curran) skews toward large contractors and engineering firms.

Skip it if you are a software or services company answering RFPs and security questionnaires. Skip it too if you need a published price before you take a call. A firm that submits only a few proposals a year should also weigh whether a demo-led enterprise sale is worth the overhead.

## How it sits next to the peers

[Loopio](/loopio) is the established answer-library platform, with tagging and review cycles that big teams rely on daily, plus a broad integration catalog. It wins on maturity and breadth across industries. Kantiv wins on AEC fit: a project-and-people graph, SF-330 awareness, and image handling that Loopio’s Q&A model does not attempt.

[AutoRFP.ai](/autorfp-ai) is the accuracy-first tool for writing winning responses in a workflow that is easy to run: a cross-industry AI-native product with published pricing from $899 a month and unlimited users. It traces each line to a source and learns from past responses without library upkeep. It is the fit for teams that answer questionnaires and RFPs across many formats and want that workflow to stay easy. Kantiv is the better fit when the deliverable is an AEC qualifications package rather than a question-by-question response.

[QorusDocs](/qorusdocs) suits professional-services teams that build proposals in Word and PowerPoint, with engagement analytics on what recipients opened. Like Kantiv, it does not publish pricing. QorusDocs is stronger if your firm lives in Microsoft 365 templates. Kantiv is stronger on AEC knowledge structure and RFx compliance checks.

[RFP Response Builder](/rfp-response-builder) is the budget, Office-native option at $39 per user per month with a free trial, and it lists construction among its audiences. It wins on price transparency and getting started this week. Kantiv wins on AI drafting and AEC-specific structure, which RFP Response Builder does not attempt.

## What to test in a demo

Bring a real pursuit, not the demo dataset. Here is what we would check:

- **A live SF-330.** Upload a recent one and see how well Kantiv fills the sections from your projects and resumes. Count how many entries need correcting.
- **Project versus pursuit.** Check that Kantiv distinguishes a project you delivered from one you only bid on. Past performance has to be real work.
- **Compliance check.** Feed it an RFx with a buried requirement in an addendum. See if the check flags it.
- **Source tracing.** Open five drafted paragraphs and trace each one back to the project record it came from.
- **The interview agent.** Have a principal do the ten-minute call, then review what Kantiv proposes to write. Judge the accuracy before you trust it at scale.
- **Images into InDesign.** Drag tagged images into your actual template and check the alternate sizes.
- **Deltek sync.** Confirm what flows from Deltek, in which direction, and how often.
- **Add-ons and roadmap.** Ask which features are add-ons and what they cost. Then ask when the Go/No-Go and Win Theme agents ship.
- **Security pack.** Request the SOC 2 report and confirm its type. Ask for the CMMC level and the hosting region too.

If Kantiv handles your messiest SF-330 cleanly, it earns its spot. If it cannot tell your delivered projects from your lost bids, no amount of agent branding will fix that.

## Security: ISO 27001, SOC 2, and regional hosting

A security review of Kantiv usually starts with three questions: ISO 27001, SOC 2, and whether you can keep data in the US or the EU. We only mark a yes when a public vendor page supports it.

## Subprocessors

For Kantiv, start with the big three clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP), then look at niche processors that touch answer content, call a third-party model, or record sessions.

### Pricing and value

[How much does Kantiv cost?](/pricing/kantiv)

Kantiv uses quote-only pricing, quoted per deal rather than published No public price list. Enterprise quotes come through a demo, and the pricing page is an ROI calculator that mentions add-ons sold outside the core platform.

On our capability model it scores 3.9 out of 5 across 9 dimensions. Weigh that against AEC marketing and proposal teams that want past projects and resumes matched to each RFx without digging through shared drives to judge whether the price fits the job.

Pricing and details verified Oct 2026\. Confirm on the vendor's site before you buy.

## Who should pick Kantiv, and who should skip it

**Pick it if** you fit this profile: proposal managers and business development leads at AEC firms who turn around SF-330s and RFx responses on two-week deadlines. Where it earns its place: Built around an AEC data model, with Workspaces that handle SF-330s and SOQs as distinct formats.

**Look elsewhere if** this limitation is a deal-breaker: No public pricing: Kantiv routes every enterprise quote through a demo. Also look around if ddqs is central to how you work (0/3 here). In that case, one of the [Kantiv alternatives](/alternatives/kantiv) may fit better.

## Bottom line

Best use case in one line: AEC marketing and proposal teams that want past projects and resumes matched to each RFx without digging through shared drives.

Matches Kantiv on AI drafting, and leads on RFPs and DDQs. Audience: Teams in SaaS, tech, financial services, and healthcare answering high volumes of RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, and security questionnaires. Watch-out: No public prices: the entry Foundations plan includes 10 seats, and multi-step reviews start one tier up on Enhanced.

[**AutoRFP.ai**](/autorfp-ai) (4.9/5, $899/mo). Best for software and finance teams answering structured RFPs in Word and Excel who want accuracy-first drafts, responses written to win, and a workflow that is easy to run. Leads Kantiv on RFPs, DDQs, and AI drafting. Audience: Software and finance response teams whose RFPs come in as Word or Excel files and who want accuracy-first drafts, winning responses with every line cited to a source, a person, or the AI, and a workflow that is easy to run. Watch-out: Built for structured, source-cited answers rather than creative writing on long-form responses. For persuasive multi-page narrative, AutogenAI is built for that prose job.

[**Responsive**](/responsive) (4.6/5, $10,000 (Emerging edition)). Best for enterprise teams with complex approval chains and heavy integration requirements. Matches Kantiv on AI drafting, and leads on RFPs and DDQs. Audience: Enterprise sales and proposal teams that need the widest workflow across RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, and security questionnaires. Watch-out: Quoted by edition, user count, and add-ons, with a 12-month minimum term as standard and no free trial.

[**GovDash**](/govdash) (4.0/5, Custom). Best for US government contractors running US federal bids from capture through proposal. Matches Kantiv on RFPs and AI drafting, and leads on DDQs. Audience: US GovCon business-development and proposal teams that need a workflow built for US federal buyers, not a general questionnaire tool. Watch-out: FedRAMP Ready on the marketplace with zero agency authorizations as of April 2026.

[**Thalamus AI**](/thalamus-ai) (4.2/5, Custom). Best for proposal teams that want bid qualification, compliance tracking and SME review in one AI workspace, not only faster drafting. Matches Kantiv on RFPs and AI drafting, and leads on DDQs. Audience: Enterprise proposal and bid teams running long narrative RFPs with many contributors, who also field DDQs and security questionnaires. Watch-out: No public price list; every buyer goes through a pricing recommendation call or a demo.

[**Civio**](/civio) (4.0/5, Custom). Best for tech and services companies selling to government at every level who want bid triage plus first drafts in one place. Matches Kantiv on RFPs and AI drafting, and leads on DDQs. Audience: B2G capture and proposal teams working on non-CUI pursuits who would rather approve agent output than run prompts themselves. Watch-out: Not an authorized environment for CUI or export-controlled (ITAR/EAR) data; the terms prohibit uploading CUI, and the app is not FedRAMP authorized.
