# Which RFP software cites the source of each answer?

Short answer

14 response tools record source attribution as a core capability, so a reviewer can see where a drafted answer came from: Arphie, Inventive AI, Tribble, Conveyor, Iris, Skypher and 8 more. The useful test is not whether a citation appears but whether it points to the passage that supports the claim, so check citations on answers you already know are right and on ones you know are wrong.

## Tools that qualify, with the evidence

__Rule: Source attribution recorded as a core capability, backed by a sentence about citations, sources or traceability. Ordered by the related capability scores; ties go to sourced research facts, then overall score. Source dates are when the fact was read.__

## Why this question matters

A cited answer moves review from rewriting to checking. The reviewer opens the source, confirms the sentence says what the draft claims and approves it. Without a source, every AI answer has to be verified from scratch, which erases most of the time saved.

## Which one fits your situation

- If you want a confidence signal alongside each citation, start with [Arphie](/arphie), [Inventive AI](/inventive-ai) and [Tribble](/tribble).
- If you answer security questionnaires where a wrong claim is costly, start with [Arphie](/arphie), [Inventive AI](/inventive-ai) and [Conveyor](/conveyor).
- If you need citations on RFPs and DDQs from one workspace, start with [Arphie](/arphie), [Inventive AI](/inventive-ai) and [Tribble](/tribble).

## What to test in a trial

1. Pick ten answers your team knows well, including two where the source documents disagree.
2. Open every citation and check that the cited passage actually supports the sentence.
3. Ask a question your sources cannot answer and see whether the tool says so.
4. Export the response and check whether the citation trail survives for later audit.

## Caveats

- A citation proves where text came from, not that the source is current. Pair this with stale-content checks.
- Citation depth differs: some tools cite a document, some a paragraph, some a single line.

## How we decided who qualifies

Only RFP, DDQ and questionnaire response tools with a published profile are checked. A tool is named here only when its record shows the rule above, either in a sourced research fact or in the reviewed profile, and we publish an answer only when at least three tools qualify. A tool missing from the table may still do this; it has not been documented in a way we could source. Read the [research methodology](/methodology) for how facts are dated and corrected.

## More questions on this topic

Why do source citations matter in RFP software?

They let a reviewer confirm an AI draft in seconds instead of researching it again, and they create a record of what each answer relied on.

Do citations stop AI hallucinations?

They make unsupported answers easier to spot. They do not stop a model from writing them, so review still matters.

Should citations go to the buyer?

Usually not. Citations are an internal review aid; the buyer receives the approved answer.
