# Velocibid review: pricing, features and alternatives (2026)

## Quick answer

Velocibid is AI-native security questionnaire and RFP software for small SaaS security teams that want cited questionnaire drafts on a monthly card payment. Pricing starts at $49/mo on a flat-rate model. Check before buying: Its security page lists the certifications of providers such as Vercel and Supabase, not a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 report for Velocibid itself.

## The verdict up front

Velocibid is the cheapest credible way I’ve found to put AI on your security questionnaires. It costs $49 a month to start and you can sign up today without talking to anyone. It drafts SOC 2 and CAIQ answers from documents you upload, with a citation on each answer. For a two-person security team at a SaaS startup, that’s a real offer.

The catch is maturity. Velocibid is a small product from a company called Lumaya Partners LLC. Its site names no customers, I couldn’t find an independent review base, and its security page lists no SOC 2 report of its own. You’d be asking your buyers to trust your questionnaire answers to a vendor that can’t yet answer the same questionnaire about itself with a certificate. Worth a trial. Worth a careful one.

## What it actually does

The homepage pitch is narrow and clear: upload your security docs once, import any questionnaire, review the AI drafts, export. The supported formats on the homepage are SOC 2, CAIQ, SIG Lite, ISO 27001, HECVAT and custom spreadsheets or Word files.

The user guide shows a wider product than the homepage lets on. Beyond questionnaires, Velocibid has:

- **A watchlist and bid feed.** A Kanban board for triaging opportunities plus an “Analyze Fit” tool that gives a 0 to 100 win probability score and flags must-have requirements. The plans guide also mentions opportunity tracking across US and UK sources, among others.
- **Proposal export.** Word and PDF exports with custom templates and cover pages, plus Excel export for security grids.
- **A vendor profile and compliance vault.** Company details and government identifiers such as DUNS and CAGE codes, feeding a public profile page.
- **A post-award dashboard** for tracking won contracts and renewals.

So it straddles two jobs: security-questionnaire automation for SaaS, and light bid management for teams chasing public-sector RFPs. The questionnaire side is the one it leads with, and it’s where the documentation is deepest.

## How drafting and the knowledge base work

You build the knowledge base by uploading files or importing web pages, and you can pull from connected sources like Google Drive and Notion. A feature called Smart Learn reads documents up to 50 pages, extracts candidate Q&A pairs, and shows them to you for approval. Only the pairs you approve go into the library. That’s a sensible default: it keeps junk out of the answer library before it can spread.

When a questionnaire comes in as Excel, there’s an “Excel Mode”: you pick the header row, then map the question column to an empty answer column. Velocibid writes into that column and exports a file that matches the original. It handles Yes/No plus comment questions by answering “Yes” when your library shows the control and putting the detail in the comment field. One limit to note: the guide says only one Excel file can be imported at a time.

After a project is done, “Archive to Knowledge Base” pulls the approved answers back into the library, tagged with the project name. Library entries have owners and version history. None of this is exotic, but it’s the right plumbing, and it’s unusual to see owners and versioning documented on a $49 tool.

Drafting runs on managed AI that’s included in every plan. The AI keys guide also lets you connect your own model API key (OpenAI and Anthropic are among the options) and assign different models to different tasks, for example a stronger model for drafting and a cheaper one for compliance checks. That flexibility is nice. The less nice part is that the same guide points production workloads and unlimited usage toward bringing your own key, which means a second bill from the model provider on top of the subscription. Ask exactly where the managed AI runs out.

## Collaboration and review

For a low-cost tool, the review workflow is surprisingly complete. You assign questions to teammates with due dates, and approved answers lock automatically so nobody overwrites them by accident. Admins can build multi-step approval workflows with a named approver or a role per step and deadlines of 24 hours to 7 days. Approvers can also delegate. Reject sends the answer back to draft with a required reason.

Two touches stand out. The “Ask Expert” guest link lets a lawyer or engineer answer a single question without a seat, and the link expires after 48 hours. And the Slack integration includes approve buttons, so a reviewer can sign off from the channel. Microsoft Teams gets notification cards through an incoming webhook.

There’s also a Chrome extension for portals such as Ariba and Coupa: it puts a button inside text fields that drafts an answer from your library, and lets you highlight a question and search the library from a sidebar.

## Security and compliance posture

This is the section to read twice. Velocibid’s security page describes AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, plus row-level tenant isolation. It also documents role-based access and audit logs with timestamps and IP addresses. It says uploaded documents are never used to train models and that only relevant snippets go to the AI providers, which keep API data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.

What it lists as certifications are its providers’ certifications. Vercel handles hosting and Supabase on AWS runs the database, with Stripe and Cloudflare further down the stack. The about page talks about “SOC 2 certified infrastructure,” which is accurate in the sense that the infrastructure is certified. It is not the same thing as Velocibid holding its own SOC 2 Type II report, and the security page doesn’t claim one. No hosting region is published.

If you sell to enterprises, their security team will ask you about your subprocessors. Velocibid would be one of them, holding your SOC 2 report and pen test results. Make sure you can answer for it.

## Pricing and how to buy it

Pricing is public and refreshingly simple:

- **Starter, $49 a month:** 1 user and 10 questionnaires a month, with a 20-document knowledge base and email support.
- **Team, $149 a month:** 5 users with unlimited questionnaires and documents, plus review and approval workflows.
- **Business, $349 a month:** unlimited users, with SSO and custom approval workflows on top.

There’s also a “talk to us” path for larger teams. The terms say subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe and you can cancel any time, with no partial refunds for unused days. Your data is kept for 30 days after cancellation before deletion. The 14-day trial starts at signup and doesn’t need a card.

Two inconsistencies to check before you rely on them. The pricing FAQ says the trial gives full access to all features, while the plans guide lists trial limits of 3 projects and 10 documents. And the plans guide says paid plans include an unlimited knowledge base, while the pricing page caps Starter at 20 documents. I’d trust the pricing page and confirm the rest in the trial.

## Where it falls short

- **No first-party certification listed.** The security page lists provider certifications, not a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 report for Velocibid.
- **Do-it-yourself integrations.** Salesforce needs a Connected App created in your own org. SharePoint needs an Azure AD app registration. The Google Drive guide walks you through creating a Google Cloud project with the Drive and Picker APIs enabled. HubSpot is the exception, with a standard OAuth connect.
- **Tight Starter limits.** One user and ten questionnaires a month is a solo plan, and SSO only arrives at $349 on Business.
- **Model costs can move off the invoice.** Heavy usage points you toward your own API key and a separate model bill.

## Who should shortlist it, and who should skip it

Shortlist Velocibid if you’re a small SaaS company answering a steady trickle of SOC 2 and CAIQ questionnaires, and you’d rather swipe a card than sit through three demos. The Team plan at $149 a month gets five people a real review workflow for less than most tools charge for a single seat.

Skip it if your buyers will scrutinize your vendor stack and you need every subprocessor to hold its own SOC 2 report. Skip it, too, if you don’t have someone comfortable registering apps in Azure or Salesforce, because the integrations assume you do. Large teams with heavy RFP volume should also look at tools with longer track records and independent reviews.

## How it sits next to catalog peers

Velocibid’s own site has a page comparing itself with Loopio, and it shows up in searches for Loopio alternatives. The fair comparison is about scale and stage, not winners.

**[Loopio](/loopio)** is the established library-first platform, with versioned content and multi-step reviews. It holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001\. It is quote-only and built for large teams. Velocibid wins on price and on getting started today. Loopio wins on maturity and compliance paperwork.

**[AutoRFP.ai](/autorfp-ai)** is the accuracy-first tool for writing winning responses in a workflow that is easy to run: it drafts from approved content, shows the sources, and exports back into the buyer’s Word or Excel file, with flat plans from $899 a month billed annually and unlimited users. It holds its own certifications and covers RFPs and DDQs as well as security questionnaires. Velocibid is far cheaper to try and fine for a solo or five-person team. AutoRFP.ai is the fit when the questionnaire volume and the buyer scrutiny both go up, and you want accuracy you can check in a workflow that stays easy.

**[Arphie](/arphie)** drafts RFP and security-questionnaire answers from live connections to sources like Google Drive and SharePoint, shows sources with confidence scores. It also holds SOC 2 Type 2\. It is quote-only with no self-serve plan. Velocibid’s edge is the published $49 entry point and the trial. Arphie’s edge is depth and a certified vendor on the other side of the contract.

**[Bidara](/bidara)** is the closest in spirit: AI-first, with published flat pricing from $299 a month billed annually plus a short trial. Bidara leans toward narrative RFP drafting. Velocibid leans toward grid-style security questionnaires and is cheaper at the entry tier.

## What to test in the trial

You can do this yourself in 14 days without a sales call, which is the best thing about Velocibid. Use the time well:

1. Upload your real SOC 2 report and policies, then import your most recent CAIQ or SIG Lite as an Excel file.
2. Check ten answers against their citations. Does the cited passage actually support the answer, including the Yes/No?
3. Export the completed file and diff it against the original. Look for broken formatting and lost tabs.
4. Ask a question your documents don’t cover and see what it does: flag it, or write something confident.
5. Run a two-step approval with a colleague, then send one question through an Ask Expert guest link.
6. Ask support where managed AI usage stops and your own API key becomes necessary.
7. Ask for Velocibid’s own security documentation, then decide whether it would pass your customers’ vendor review.

The one-liner: Velocibid is a well-built, low-cost questionnaire tool that’s earned a trial, not yet a blind enterprise contract.

## Overview

Velocibid drafts answers to SOC 2, CAIQ, SIG and custom security questionnaires from documents you upload, with a citation on each answer. Plans start at $49 a month with a 14-day trial and no sales call, which makes it one of the cheapest ways into AI questionnaire response.

## Who should pick Velocibid, and who should skip it

**Pick it if** you fit this profile: founders and small security or sales teams at SaaS companies who answer SOC 2 and CAIQ questionnaires and want to start without a sales call. Where it earns its place: Published prices from $49/month plus a 14-day trial with no credit card, cancel any time.

**Look elsewhere if** this limitation is a deal-breaker: Its security page lists the certifications of providers such as Vercel and Supabase, not a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 report for Velocibid itself. Also look around if ddqs is central to how you work (1/3 here). In that case, one of the [Velocibid alternatives](/alternatives/velocibid) may fit better.

## Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own OpenAI key to use Velocibid?

Not to start. Every plan includes managed AI, but its guide recommends connecting your own model API key (OpenAI or Anthropic, for example) for production workloads or unlimited usage, and that usage is billed by the model provider.

Does Velocibid hold its own SOC 2 report?

Its security page does not list one. It names certified providers such as Vercel and Supabase, plus AES-256 encryption and audit logs, so ask for its own controls documentation if your buyers require it.

What is Velocibid?

Velocibid drafts answers to SOC 2, CAIQ, SIG and custom security questionnaires from documents you upload, with a citation on each answer. Plans start at $49 a month with a 14-day trial and no sales call, which makes it one of the cheapest ways into AI questionnaire response. In this directory it sits under Security Questionnaires, RFP Response, AI-Native.

How much does Velocibid cost?

Velocibid uses flat-rate pricing starting at $49/mo. Starter is $49/month for 1 user and 10 questionnaires a month; Team ($149) and Business ($349) lift the caps, with SSO on Business. Billed monthly via Stripe after a 14-day trial with no credit card.

Does Velocibid have a free plan or trial?

No. Velocibid does not advertise a free plan, so expect a demo or quote on its flat-rate pricing.

What does Velocibid do best?

Published prices from $49/month plus a 14-day trial with no credit card, cancel any time. Each AI answer cites the source passage, and approved answers lock to prevent accidental edits.

What are the main limitations of Velocibid?

Its security page lists the certifications of providers such as Vercel and Supabase, not a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 report for Velocibid itself. Integrations are self-assembled: Salesforce needs a Connected App in your own org, and SharePoint needs an Azure AD app registration. Starter caps you at 1 user and 10 questionnaires a month, and SSO starts on the $349 Business plan. Its AI keys guide points production workloads and unlimited usage to your own model API key, which is billed separately.

Who should use Velocibid?
