Developers and agents

RFP Software Tools developer resources

The RFP Software Tools Public API exposes read-only directory data for agents, research tools, and software that needs a structured list of published RFP, DDQ, and security-questionnaire products. The API is available without authentication. Use the human-readable pages when you need full editorial context and source notes.

Authentication and usage

No API key, cookie, or authorization header is required. Endpoints are static, cacheable, and updated with the published directory. Clients should cache responses, avoid unnecessary repeated requests, and follow the canonical URLs returned in each record when more context is required.

Endpoints

Example request

curl -sS -H "Accept: application/json" \
  https://rfp-software-tools.com/api/v1/vendors.json

Markdown for agents

Public HTML pages support HTTP content negotiation. Send Accept: text/markdown to the same page URL to receive Markdown. Responses include Vary: Accept so shared caches keep HTML and Markdown separate. Start with llms.txt to choose the most relevant profile, comparison, category, or guide.

Error responses

Unknown API paths return application/problem+json with a stable error code, message, resolution hint, and documentation URL. Unknown content paths return HTTP 404. Markdown clients receive a short Markdown recovery page with links to the sitemap, llms.txt, developer guide, and homepage.
