Security: ISO 27001, SOC 2, and regional hosting
Put Loopio and Steerlab through the same three questions a security reviewer will ask: ISO 27001, SOC 2, and whether you can keep the tenancy in the US or the EU. Cells say Not listed when we could not find the claim on a public vendor page.
| Check | Loopio | Steerlab |
|---|---|---|
| ISO 27001 | ISO 27001 (legal addendum) loopio.com, 2026-08 Loopio legal addenda cite ISO 27001 and ISO 9001. The public security page describes an ISMS based on ISO 27001 rather than showing a certificate badge. | Not listed |

Subprocessors: the big three clouds, then the niche names
Compare Loopio and Steerlab on AWS, Azure and GCP first. Then scan for niche processors a reviewer should pause on: third-party LLMs, session replay, or support that leaves the region you elected.

Loopio does not publish a full named subprocessor table on its public security page. Confirm the current list in the DPA or during security review. | No niche processors flagged in our sourced list. Steerlab names AWS as its cloud provider but does not publish a full subprocessor list on its site. Ask for it during security review, including which model providers process your content. |
Short answer: Pick Loopio if the answer library is already a managed asset: tagging, versioning, review cycles, multi-step reviews on the Enhanced plan, and a public record that includes more than 1,700 customer companies and 812 G2 reviews. Pick Steerlab if that library is the problem, you want the first RFP or questionnaire run with no credit card, and you want European hosting plus a Go/No-Go agent in the same product. Loopio publishes plan names and no dollars. Steerlab’s pricing page returns a 404, and paid plans are quoted after a demo. Budget both only after written quotes.
Loopio was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada. The profile’s summary says more than 1,700 companies use it. Named customers include Barclays, Siemens, Goldman Sachs, Cisco, DocuSign, and Kroger. The best-for line is large enterprise teams with high response volume and a mature content library. Categories cover RFPs, DDQs, and security questionnaires.
Steerlab was founded in 2023 and is headquartered in Paris, France. Tech.eu’s 4 September 2024 story records a EUR 1.7 million pre-seed, about $1.9 million, led by Dreamcraft Ventures with Heartfelt_, Lumiere AI Ventures, Station F, and more than 20 angels. Named customers are Playable, beqom, Staffbase, Gladia, and Mantra. The audience is B2B software presales and security teams, especially EU teams that want data in Europe.
The age gap is context for the rest of the page. A twelve-year library product has had time to grow review workflows, a review corpus, and separate regional environments. A 2023 product has had time to skip the assumption that you will hire a librarian. Both can be the right buy. They are right for different weeks in the team’s life.
Key takeaways
- Library discipline, or library cleanup: Loopio’s strength is a mature answer library with tagging, versioning, and review cycles that big teams use daily. Steerlab’s strength is a library it says classifies content, removes duplicates and conflicts, and flags stale responses, plus a free first document so you can watch that happen.
- Quotes, both: Loopio Foundations includes 10 seats, unlimited projects, and unlimited library entries, at a custom price. Multi-step reviews start on Enhanced. Steerlab publishes no seat count and no project meter. The pricing URL 404s.
- Regions: Loopio offers a North America environment and an EU environment (AWS Ireland). Steerlab’s published hosting is Europe, Ireland in the terms, and it does not list a US region.
- Reviews: Loopio’s July 2026 sample is 812 G2 reviews at 4.6, 16 Gartner reviews at 4.3, and 74 Capterra reviews at 4.6. Steerlab’s October 2026 Capterra sample is 1 review at 5.0.
- A Loopio limit you can cite: Capterra reviewers, in reviews dated August 2024 and February 2025, report formatting cleanup after importing or exporting projects. The facts file notes the same complaint in 2016 and 2017 reviews.
- A Steerlab limit you can cite: the May 2026 Capterra review asked for more ready-made templates for banking and fintech security questionnaires and said some RFPs still need setup work.
What “library-first” means on a Tuesday
Loopio’s idea has been stable. Approved answers live in a tagged, versioned library. Projects are built from incoming questionnaires. Reviews move through the workflow. Analytics describe progress and content health. Generative AI, on the profile, draws suggestions from stored answers. The facts file is specific about the plan gate: multi-step reviews, confidential projects, and the multi-language library start at Enhanced. Foundations does not include them. If your reason for buying Loopio is the review chain, price Enhanced from the first quote. Foundations’ 10 seats and unlimited projects are a real package for a smaller sales-led team, and they are not the governance package.
That maturity is a genuine Loopio strength, and this page grants it. A dedicated content owner with a clean library gets levers: permissioned stacks of content, review cycles, and a vendor that has been in production since 2014. Unlimited projects on every plan, including Foundations, matter when the bid count is high and the contributor count is low. Industry integrations such as Salesforce and Highspot are paid add-ons, which the profile states plainly, so the library can be in budget while the CRM connector is still a change order. Knowing that before the call is part of using the product well.
Steerlab assumes the library will not be that tidy, and it says the software should do the tidying. Per its comparison page, cited in the facts as of October 2026, the auto-managed library classifies content and removes duplicates and conflicts. It flags outdated responses and learns from each submission. You can migrate a Q&A library or connect Google Drive, SharePoint, and the CRM and skip the import. The maintenance story is the product. A team that has spent years paying someone to keep Loopio clean should not throw that asset away because a newer homepage dislikes libraries. A team that never staffed the role, and whose Drive shows it, should not buy another empty library and hope this time is different.
The practical test is one stale answer you know is wrong. In Loopio, the question is whether the review cycle assigned an owner and a date before the draft reused it. In Steerlab, the question is whether the flag appears without that owner having built the schedule. Bring the stale paragraph to both, if you can get into both.
Drafts, sources, and the rate on the features page
Loopio’s AI is described as suggestions drawn from your stored answers, with the library as the boundary. Source attribution on the capability model is part of the product, and this page will not recite a score. What you should expect in a demo is a citation back to a library entry a human can open. If the entry is wrong, the draft is wrong, and the fix is the entry. That is a feature when the library is trusted and a trap when it is not.
Steerlab attaches linked source documents and a confidence score, and its security-teams page says it flags unknowns. The profile uses the vendor’s words: it flags unknowns and does not invent an answer. Test the unknown. A question about a control you do not have should come back flagged, not fluent.
Steerlab’s features page says it auto-generates 80% or more of a document in minutes. The facts file stores that as the vendor’s sentence, as of October 2026, without a methodology. It is not used here as a measured savings figure. Loopio’s pages also carry efficiency claims in the wider market, and this guide’s comparison standard is to leave unaudited rates out of the verdict. Click sources. Count questions handed back to a person. That count is yours.
Go/No-Go, reviews, and who is in the project
Steerlab’s extra, which Loopio’s profile does not list, is the Go/No-Go agent: win probability and competitor-bias detection so you can decide whether to answer at all. Proposal teams drown in bids they should have declined. A named agent for that decision is a genuine Steerlab strength. Ask what data it reads, and whether the number is usable on day one or only after a history of wins and losses you may not have loaded.
Loopio’s extra, which Steerlab’s short public record does not match, is the depth of review workflow and the size of the customer base that has already argued with it. Recommended patterns in the profile include multi-step review once you are on Enhanced, confidential projects, and analytics on response progress and content health. Roles in a large proposal office, business-unit separation, and a decade of edge cases are why enterprises shortlist Loopio even when a newer tool drafts a prettier first pass. Steerlab does describe project tracking, assignments, comments, and roles such as Contributor and Proposal Manager. That is real collaboration. It is not the same artifact as 812 G2 reviews describing a workflow people have used since the middle of the last decade.
Price shape, with no dollars on either page
| Loopio | Steerlab | |
|---|---|---|
| Public dollars | None. Every plan is “Let’s Talk” | None. https://www.steerlab.ai/pricing returns a 404 |
| Entry structure | Foundations, 10 seats, unlimited projects, unlimited library entries | First RFP or questionnaire free, no credit card. Paid plan after a demo |
| What moves you up a tier | Multi-step reviews, confidential projects, and the multi-language library start on Enhanced. Enterprise has a custom seat count | Not published |
| Add-ons called out | Salesforce, Highspot, other industry integrations, onboarding packages, project translations | Not published as a menu |
| Users | Seat-based. Foundations includes 10 | Not stated |
| Trial | No free tier on the profile | One document |
Loopio’s missing dollar is frustrating and familiar. You can still model the shape: seats, tier, and add-ons. A team with eight contributors and a Salesforce requirement should not accept a Foundations quote that excludes both the ninth seat and the connector. A team with forty bids and six people may find unlimited projects more important than unlimited seats. Steerlab does not give you that shape on the website. The gift is the document you run before the call. The risk is a quote whose meter you have not seen, landing after your content is already in the workspace. Ask for the meter, the renewal, and the export path in the same proposal. Loopio’s website does not supply a dollar you can subtract from a Steerlab quote, and Steerlab’s website does not supply one either.
Security and residency
Loopio lists SOC 2 Type II, sourced to its security page as of August 2026. ISO 27001 appears in legal addenda alongside ISO 9001. The public security page describes an information-security management system based on ISO 27001, which is not the same sentence as a certificate badge on the marketing page. Read the addendum. Hosting: North America on AWS in Northern Virginia, with disaster recovery in Northern California, and a separate EU environment on AWS Ireland. City-level regions are published on Loopio’s Slack Marketplace security answers. Loopio’s own security page names AWS without the city. The two environments are separate (company.loopio.com and company.eu.loopio.com).
Subprocessors: AWS for primary and disaster-recovery hosting. Rackspace holds encrypted production database backups for the North America environment. The profile flags that US-only backup copy and tells you to confirm whether it is in scope for an EU tenancy. Loopio does not publish a full named subprocessor table on the public security page. Ask for the DPA list.
Slack and Microsoft Teams each have North America and EU apps.
Steerlab lists SOC 2 against five Trust Services Criteria and does not say Type I or Type II. ISO 27001 is unlisted. Data is in AWS regions in Europe, replicated across several European regions, and the terms say Ireland. AWS is the named cloud. A full subprocessor list, including which model providers see content, is not on the site. Identity connectors on the integrations page: Okta, Google SSO, Auth0, Microsoft Entra ID. Contract law: French law, arbitration seated in Paris.
If you need both a US region and an EU region as a customer choice, Loopio’s record has that choice and Steerlab’s does not. If you need Europe only, and you want that to be the default, Steerlab has written the default down, and Loopio will put you in the EU environment on purpose. Ireland appears in both stories. It does not mean the same architecture.
Connectors
Loopio’s profile list: Salesforce, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Seismic, SharePoint. The strengths line adds a broader catalog and warns that industry integrations are paid add-ons. Seismic on the included-looking list and Salesforce as an add-on can both be true: confirm which logos are in the tier you are quoting.
Steerlab’s 17: Google Drive, SharePoint, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, Slack, Microsoft Teams, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, Chrome, Confluence, Notion, Okta, Google SSO, Auth0, Microsoft Entra ID.
Shared in these records: Salesforce (add-on at Loopio, listed at Steerlab), Slack, Teams, SharePoint. Loopio’s distinctive name here is Seismic. Steerlab’s distinctive names are the file stores beyond SharePoint, Dynamics 365, HubSpot, Confluence, Notion, the Chrome extension, and the SSO set. A proposal team living in Seismic will feel that gap immediately. A team living in Dynamics will feel the other gap. Write your five systems down before you reward either logo grid.
Known issues and limitations
Loopio
- No public price: every plan on the pricing page is “Let’s Talk”. Foundations includes 10 seats (checked October 2026).
- Tier gates and add-ons: multi-step reviews, confidential projects, and the multi-language library start on Enhanced. Salesforce, Highspot, onboarding packages, and project translations are add-ons, per the same page.
- Import and export cleanup, in dated reviews: Capterra reviewers report formatting cleanup after exporting or importing projects, in reviews dated August 2024 and February 2025, repeating a complaint from 2016 and 2017 reviews (facts file, checked October 2026).
- Drafts follow the library: suggestions come from stored answers. A neglected entry comes back as a neglected draft. The EU backup path through Rackspace is a question for EU buyers, per the Slack Marketplace notes cited on the profile.
Steerlab
- 404, then a demo: steerlab.ai/pricing does not list prices. Paid plans are quoted after a demo. The free first document does not require a credit card (checked October 2026).
- Europe as the published region: security and the terms. No US region is listed. SOC 2 type is unstated. ISO 27001 is unlisted. The subprocessor list is incomplete on the site.
- One Capterra review: 5.0 from 1 review as of October 2026. The May 2026 text asked for more ready-to-use templates for banking and fintech questionnaires and said some RFPs still need setup.
- Law and forum: French law, arbitration in Paris.
- DDQs are not a named workflow in the product-page record. Blog explainers are not a fund-manager module.
Choose Loopio when
- A person already owns the answer library, and tagging, versioning, and review cycles are how that person works.
- You need multi-step reviews, confidential projects, or a multi-language library, and you will quote Enhanced or above so those are actually in the order.
- Bid volume is high, contributor count is closer to Foundations’ 10 seats, and unlimited projects matter more than a no-card trial.
- The committee wants 812 G2 reviews, a 2014 founding, and customers such as Barclays, Siemens, and Goldman Sachs on the slide.
- You need a deliberate choice between a North America environment and an EU environment, including AWS Ireland for EU.
- Seismic is part of the stack, and you will confirm whether Salesforce and Highspot are add-ons in your quote.
- You have read the August 2024 and February 2025 Capterra notes on formatting, and you will test import and export on your worst workbook.
Choose Steerlab when
- Nobody has the librarian job, and the files in Drive disagree with each other.
- You want one real RFP in the product before you discuss a renewal.
- European hosting is required, and a US region is not.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365, HubSpot, Entra ID, Box, or Dropbox are on the must-connect list.
- A Go/No-Go signal would stop bad bids before they consume a week.
- You will demand the SOC 2 type, the model-provider list, and a written price before signature, because the public pages leave those open.
- Your work is B2B RFPs and security questionnaires, and you have checked that a Loopio-style DDQ volume is not the hidden requirement.
Verdict
Loopio is the library you staff. The review record, the plan gates, the regional environments, and the unlimited-project entry tier are the reasons enterprises keep it on the shortlist in 2026. The quote, the add-ons, and the long-running formatting notes on Capterra are the reasons you test the export before you celebrate the demo.
Steerlab is the library you hope not to staff. The free document, the dedupe-and-flag story, the Go/No-Go agent, and Ireland in the terms are the reasons a European presales team should run that document. The 404, the single Capterra review, the unstated SOC 2 type, and the missing US region are the reasons the second meeting is a paperwork meeting.
If the content owner is already excellent, Loopio pays that person back. If the content owner was never hired, Steerlab is the trial that matches the org chart you actually have. Get both quotes against the same bid count and the same contributor list, and do not sign either one on a homepage rate.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Loopio and Steerlab?
Loopio, founded in 2014 in Toronto, is a library-first response platform. It says more than 1,700 companies use it, and its generative AI drafts from the curated library. Steerlab, founded in 2023 in Paris, drafts from connected content, says the library classifies and dedupes itself, and adds a Go/No-Go agent. Loopio's public record is much deeper. Steerlab's is a free first document and a pricing page that 404s.
Which is cheaper, Loopio or Steerlab?
Neither publishes a dollar price. Loopio's plans are quote-only. The entry Foundations plan includes 10 seats, and the pricing page says Let's Talk. Steerlab's pricing URL returns a 404, and paid plans are quoted after a demo. Steerlab will run your first RFP or questionnaire with no credit card. That trial does not tell you the renewal price.
Can both host data in the EU?
Yes, with different shapes. Loopio runs separate North America and EU environments. The EU app is on AWS Ireland, and the North America environment is AWS Northern Virginia with disaster recovery in Northern California. Steerlab stores customer data in AWS regions in Europe and says in its terms that the service is hosted in Ireland. Loopio is the one that also publishes a US region. Steerlab's published default is Europe.
Does Steerlab replace a Loopio library?
Steerlab says it can take a structured migration of a Q&A library and documents, then clean and deduplicate them, and that you can also skip the import and connect drives and CRM. That claim is written about moving from Responsive on Steerlab's comparison page, so confirm the same importer accepts a Loopio export. Loopio's strength is the library you already curated. Moving it is a project, not a toggle.
Which reviews should I read?
Loopio, as of July 2026: 4.6 out of 5 on G2 from 812 reviews, 4.3 out of 5 on Gartner from 16 reviews, and 4.6 out of 5 on Capterra from 74 reviews. Steerlab, as of October 2026: 5.0 out of 5 on Capterra from 1 review. Read Loopio's sample for pattern. Read Steerlab's single review as one person's experience, including the request for banking and fintech templates.
Should I choose Loopio or Steerlab?
Choose Loopio if a content owner already runs a tagged library, you need multi-step reviews, and you want a vendor with a decade of enterprise use and a large review record. Choose Steerlab if nobody owns that library, you want to test one live RFP before a quote, and European hosting plus a Go/No-Go step are on the requirements list.
Do Loopio and Steerlab list ISO 27001, SOC 2, and US or EU hosting?
Loopio: ISO 27001 ISO 27001 (legal addendum), SOC 2 SOC 2 Type II, US Yes (AWS Northern Virginia; DR in Northern California), EU Yes (Loopio EU on AWS Ireland), Slack Slack (NA and EU apps), Teams Microsoft Teams (NA and EU apps), clouds AWS. Steerlab: ISO 27001 Not listed, SOC 2 SOC 2 (five Trust Services Criteria), US Not listed, EU Yes (AWS regions in Europe; terms name Ireland), Slack Slack (Slack bot), Teams Microsoft Teams, clouds AWS. Confirm both on the vendor sites.
