Security: ISO 27001, SOC 2, and regional hosting

Put BreezeDocs and Vercor through the same three questions a security reviewer will ask: ISO 27001, SOC 2, and whether you can keep the tenancy in the US or the EU. Cells say Not listed when we could not find the claim on a public vendor page.

Slack and Microsoft Teams

During a live questionnaire, SMEs get pinged in Slack or Teams, not in a vendor portal. Here is what BreezeDocs and Vercor publish for those two connections.

Subprocessors: the big three clouds, then the niche names

Compare BreezeDocs and Vercor on AWS, Azure and GCP first. Then scan for niche processors a reviewer should pause on: third-party LLMs, session replay, or support that leaves the region you elected.

Small teams shopping for response software in 2026 tend to land on a short list that includes both BreezeDocs and Vercor. Both publish their prices, both are aimed below the enterprise suites, and both cover RFPs and security questionnaires. Under that common ground they make opposite bets. BreezeDocs bets on a curated answer library, Microsoft Word and Excel round-trips and a guided start with a demo. Vercor bets on a self-serve pipeline that reads a solicitation, builds a compliance outline and writes the proposal, with grants as a first-class document type.

Our short answer: BreezeDocs suits commercial teams answering question-and-answer style RFPs and questionnaires, especially multilingual ones. Vercor suits proposal writers and consultants responding to formal solicitations, federal ones in particular. The detail below explains why, and where each one will annoy you.

Key takeaways

  • Buying motion: every BreezeDocs plan starts with a booked demo and is billed annually. Vercor is sign-up-and-go, with a free plan and monthly or annual billing.
  • Price floors: BreezeDocs Solo is $149/mo (billed annually), rising to $449, $649 and $999. Vercor starts at $0, then Pro at $249/mo billed annually ($299 monthly) and Unlimited at $415/mo billed annually ($499 monthly).
  • Where the AI sits: BreezeDocs reserves generative drafting for AI+ and Enterprise; Solo and Starter answer by matching questions to the content library. Vercor’s drafting starts on Pro, and its free plan covers requirement extraction and checklists.
  • Output: BreezeDocs edits and exports the original Word and Excel files from Starter up. Vercor assembles a new Word or PDF proposal.
  • Specialisms: BreezeDocs grew out of the translation industry and offers machine-translation integrations. Vercor says it maps FAR, DFARS, 2 CFR 200 and NIST 800-53 clauses into drafts.
  • Limitations: BreezeDocs has no CRM, Slack or Teams integration, which Capterra reviewers have asked for. Vercor lists no integrations at all and caps Pro at 15 generations per period.

Two companies, two starting points

BreezeDocs (Breeze Docs Inc.) was established in June 2023 and is based in Bellevue, Washington, with a fully remote team across North America and Europe. Its about page says it applies lessons and technology from the language services industry, and the translation-software company memoQ, which made a strategic investment, is also a named customer. Oberg is another. On Capterra it holds a 5.0 rating from 15 reviews (as of July 2026).

Vercor launched in 2025 from Brooklyn, New York. Its pitch is aimed at people who have lost sleep over a missing W-9: proposal managers at firms of 50 to 500 people, solo government contractors, grant writers and IT teams fielding questionnaires. The directory has no review-site rating for it yet.

How you buy, and how fast you start

This is the most practical difference and it shows up on day one.

BreezeDocs shows prices but routes every plan through “Book a Demo” (Enterprise says “Contact Us”). All plans are billed annually. In return, the higher tiers include hands-on setup: AI+ comes with white-glove onboarding that loads 300 Q&A pairs and a live training session, while Enterprise bumps the preload to 500 pairs and adds three hours of training plus a named success manager. If your library currently lives in old Excel responses, having someone load the first 300 answers is worth more than it sounds.

Vercor has no demo gate. You upload a solicitation and get extracted requirements in about a minute, according to its homepage, with no credit card. Paid plans are month-to-month or annual, with no setup fees, and the Pro card on the pricing section says: “If it doesn’t save your team time, we’ll refund the month.” You do the setup yourself.

If procurement at your company requires a demo and an annual order form anyway, the BreezeDocs process will feel normal. If you are a three-person shop that wants to try it tonight on a live bid, Vercor’s process is friendlier.

How each one does the work

BreezeDocs: match, then (on higher tiers) generate

BreezeDocs centers on a content library and a feature it calls Q&A Match: import a questionnaire, and the “Breeze button” suggests answers from your stored Q&A pairs. Subject matter experts get assigned questions, edit collaboratively, and the project manager tracks progress on a dashboard. From Starter up, native Excel and Word integration means you work in, and export back to, the buyer’s original editable file. That is the right shape for RFIs, vendor questionnaires and security reviews that arrive as spreadsheets.

Generative drafting with retrieval-augmented generation arrives on AI+ ($649/mo). Enterprise adds the Zephyr AI assistant, advanced PDF handling and what BreezeDocs calls complete user and content traceability. Per-answer citations to source documents are not something BreezeDocs documents, so if reviewers need to see the source of each line, ask for a demonstration on your own content.

Translation is the quiet differentiator. BreezeDocs lists machine-translation platform integrations, which matters if you answer the same questionnaire in German, French and Spanish.

Vercor: extract, outline, draft, assemble

Vercor runs a seven-stage pipeline. Extraction pulls out every requirement, contract term and submission rule with page references. Retrieval matches your past proposals and capability statements. A compliance outline gives every requirement its own section. Drafting writes section by section, with plain-language regulatory summaries injected for federal work. Staffing matching scores resumes against personnel requirements. Writer Tasks flag facts the knowledge base lacks. Finally, assembly exports a formatted Word or PDF document.

Vercor says every drafted paragraph carries a citation anchor to an RFP page or knowledge-base document. That is a stronger traceability claim than BreezeDocs makes publicly. It is still a vendor claim, so test it: run a past bid and click through ten citations.

The trade-off is format. Vercor produces a new document, which is what a narrative proposal needs. For a buyer’s 300-row spreadsheet, check how answers get back into their file before you buy.

Pricing and total cost

Verified pricing as of October 2026:

  • BreezeDocs (from $149/mo): four flat tiers on annual contracts, quoted as a monthly equivalent. Solo is $149, Starter $449, AI+ $649 and Enterprise $999 a month, and each one is purchased after a booked demo.
  • Vercor (from $0): one free seat, forever, for extraction and compliance checklists. Pro runs $249 a month when paid yearly ($299 when paid monthly) and bundles 15 proposal generations per period, with each additional one at $50. Unlimited runs $415 a month yearly ($499 monthly). Nothing requires a contract or a setup fee.

Seats work differently. BreezeDocs counts project managers and subject matter experts per tier:

BreezeDocs tier Monthly (billed annually) Project managers SMEs Notes
Solo $149 1 1 2 projects at a time, 25 Knowledge Hub files
Starter $449 1 3 Unlimited projects, Word and Excel integration
AI+ $649 2 6 Generative AI drafting, 300 Q&A onboarding
Enterprise $999 3 10 Zephyr assistant, 500 Q&A onboarding

Vercor counts team seats: 1 on Free, up to 15 on Pro and up to 50 on Unlimited, with generations as the usage meter.

A worked example. A five-person team that wants AI drafting would need BreezeDocs AI+ at $649/mo, or $7,788 a year. On Vercor, the same team fits on Pro at $249/mo billed annually, or $2,988 a year, as long as it stays at or under 15 generations per period; each extra costs $50. The Vercor number is lower, but the jobs differ, so price is only a tiebreaker once the workflow fits.

One caution: the BreezeDocs pricing page also carries a comparison table with different figures ($499 for Starter and $699 for AI+, plus a $0 Freemium column). The plan cards match the prices above, but confirm the number on your quote.

Security and data handling

The comparison table on this page shows each vendor’s certifications. Two points it does not cover:

  • Vercor’s terms restrict what you can upload. Both its terms and its privacy policy rule out uploads containing health records covered by HIPAA, social security or card numbers, or anything classified. Most proposals will not contain these, but some HealthTech questionnaires and grant applications might.
  • Vercor names its processors plainly. Its privacy policy (updated August 2026) lists Cloudflare for hosting, Google and OpenAI for AI processing, Clerk for authentication and Stripe for payments, and says neither Vercor nor those providers train on customer content.

BreezeDocs lists Microsoft Azure OpenAI among its integrations. Ask either vendor for a security package before you load sensitive content, and expect your own security team to ask about audit reports.

Known issues and watch-outs

BreezeDocs

  • No CRM, Slack or Teams connection. On Capterra, two reviewers in July 2025 call the missing CRM integration the main gap, and reviewers in June and July 2025 ask for Slack or Teams.
  • Generative AI is an upper-tier feature. The BreezeDocs pricing page (checked October 2026) puts RAG-based generation on AI+ and Enterprise only.
  • Solo is tight. The same page lists 2 projects at a time and 25 Knowledge Hub files on Solo, with Word and Excel integration starting on Starter.
  • Several listed features have not shipped. The pricing page tags four items as “coming soon”: custom Q&A sync library management, smart question identification, export templates and a Go/No-Go analyzer.
  • No mobile access yet. Three Capterra reviewers (July and September 2025) mention missing mobile support.

Vercor

  • Free means extraction only. Retrieval, drafting and export start on Pro, per the Vercor homepage (checked October 2026).
  • Pro has a generation meter. 15 generations per period, then $50 each (pricing).
  • Restricted data types. Vercor’s terms (April 2026) bar PHI, social security numbers, card numbers and classified data.
  • No uptime promise. The terms do not guarantee a specific uptime percentage, and the free tier has no service-level commitment.
  • No integrations. Content arrives by upload, which is fine for a folder of past bids and clumsy for a team whose answers live in Confluence or SharePoint.

Strengths worth crediting

BreezeDocs does the unglamorous parts well for its price: SME assignment, progress dashboards, original-file export and a library that someone will help you populate. Its Capterra reviewers are consistently positive, and the translation heritage is a real advantage for multilingual questionnaires that most tools treat as an afterthought.

Vercor makes the first step free and genuinely useful. The requirement extraction, compliance checklist and readiness guide give a small team the safety net a big capture shop gets from a dedicated compliance manager, and the placeholder approach to missing facts is a sound way to keep invented numbers out of a submission.

A fair bake-off in one week

Vendor demos are theatre with good lighting. If both tools are on your shortlist, run the same real work through each and judge the output, not the slides.

  1. Pick two documents you already submitted. One should be a questionnaire in Excel (security or vendor due diligence), the other a narrative RFP or grant. You know what a good answer looked like for both, which makes scoring honest.
  2. Load the same source material into each. For BreezeDocs, that means the Q&A pairs from the questionnaire’s answers plus a few policy documents. For Vercor, upload the same policies, your capability statement and the winning narrative.
  3. Run the questionnaire. Count how many answers each tool drafted that you would submit with light edits, how many needed rewrites, and how many it could not answer. Then check the export: did it land back in the buyer’s spreadsheet, columns and dropdowns intact?
  4. Run the narrative RFP. On Vercor, compare its extracted requirement list with the compliance matrix you built by hand. Anything it missed is a red flag; anything you missed is a point in its favor. On BreezeDocs, see how much of a narrative it can assemble from library matches.
  5. Check the evidence trail. For ten answers in each tool, find the source. Time how long it takes.
  6. Ask the commercial questions. For BreezeDocs: which tier includes generative drafting, how many SMEs you can add, and the exact annual figure. For Vercor: how a long questionnaire counts against Pro’s 15 generations, and whether Unlimited is cheaper at your volume.

The result usually matches the document split described above. If it does not, trust the bake-off over this page.

Who should pick BreezeDocs

  • You answer commercial RFPs, RFIs and security questionnaires that arrive as Word or Excel files and need to go back in the same format.
  • You respond in more than one language.
  • You want a vendor to help load your first few hundred answers.
  • An annual contract and a demo-first purchase fit how your company buys software.
  • You can live without CRM and chat integrations for now.

Who should pick Vercor

  • You write proposals against government or formal enterprise solicitations, where compliance and completeness decide the outcome.
  • You also write grants, or you are a consultant who does all three document types.
  • Key personnel and resumes feature in your bids.
  • You want to start free and self-serve, without a sales call.
  • Your content can live in uploaded files, and none of it is health, card or classified data.

Verdict

Choose BreezeDocs when the work is questionnaire-shaped and commercial: a library of approved answers, SMEs assigned to the gaps, the buyer’s own file going back out, and translation when you need it. Budget for AI+ if generative drafting is the point, and confirm the quoted price.

Choose Vercor when the work is proposal-shaped and compliance-driven: a long solicitation to decompose, an outline to satisfy, resumes to match and a formatted volume to submit. Start on the free extraction plan and move to Pro once it has earned it.

If you are still unsure, look at the last five documents you submitted. Mostly spreadsheets and questionnaires points to BreezeDocs. Mostly narrative volumes against Section L instructions points to Vercor.
