8 RFP and security questionnaire software for software and SaaS companies

Software companies sell to buyers who check security before they sign. Enterprise deals bring a security review, a request for the SOC 2 report and a questionnaire in a spreadsheet or portal. The tools that fit draft from live product and security documents and keep presales out of copy-paste.

Starting prices and security listings come from each vendor profile, where every fact links to the page it was read from. “Not listed” means we could not find it published, not that the vendor lacks it.

Prices and certifications move. Confirm both with the vendor before a purchase or security review.

What makes SaaS questionnaires different

Product facts change every release. An answer about SSO, data residency or an API limit can be right in March and wrong in June. Tools that draft from connected sources such as Confluence, Google Drive or Notion stay closer to the truth than a library someone has to remember to update, though anything contractual still needs a reviewer.

The formats are familiar: the CAIQ from the Cloud Security Alliance, SIG Lite and the buyer’s own spreadsheet. More of them now arrive inside portals run by risk platforms, which is why browser extensions that fill portal fields keep showing up in feature lists.

Presales owns most of the work. Sales engineers answer the technical questions, security signs off and the account executive wants it back by Friday (it is always Friday). Look for tools that answer in Slack or Teams as well as in the questionnaire, so the same approved answer serves both.

A trust center can absorb some of the load. If you already publish one, check whether the response tool reads from it or asks you to maintain a second copy of the same evidence.

Tools that fit, and why

Each tool is listed because its published profile shows evidence of fit, quoted below. Open the profile for pricing detail, security sources and the full list of limitations.

1up

Why it fits: Names software companies such as JumpCloud, WalkMe and Docebo among its customers, and doubles as a sales answer engine inside Slack and other chat apps.

Named customers: JumpCloud, WalkMe, Docebo

Check before buying: Questionnaire automations are capped by plan: 1 a month on Starter ($300/mo), 6 on Plus ($900/mo), more only on Enterprise.

Arphie

Why it fits: Aimed at presales teams at growth-stage and public companies, with software companies such as Navan and Contentful on its customer list. Drafts from live connections to Drive, SharePoint and Confluence.

Named customers: Navan, Contentful

Check before buying: No public price list or self-serve plan; every quote goes through the contact form.

AutoRFP.ai

Why it fits: Positions itself on the structured Word and Excel RFPs software teams receive, writes answers back into the buyer’s file, and shows the source behind each line.

Best for: and finance teams

Check before buying: Built for structured, source-cited answers rather than creative writing on long-form responses. For persuasive multi-page narrative, AutogenAI is built for that prose job.

Inventive AI

Why it fits: Names software companies such as HiBob and Ironclad among its customers. Drafts carry a citation and confidence score, and stale or duplicate content gets flagged.

Named customers: HiBob, Culture Amp, Ironclad

Check before buying: Usage fees per RFP and security questionnaire sit on top of a platform fee from $10K/year; final quotes need a sales call.

Loopio

Why it fits: Names SaaS and tech among the industries it serves. A mature tagged library and review workflow suit larger teams with high questionnaire volume.

Who it is for: Teams in SaaS, tech

Check before buying: No public prices: the entry Foundations plan includes 10 seats, and multi-step reviews start one tier up on Enhanced.

Realm

Why it fits: Built for presales and sales teams at software companies, covering RFPs, security questionnaires and tailored collateral, with a Slack app for quick answers.

Who it is for: software companies selling into the enterprise

Check before buying: No published pricing or free trial today; the old pricing page is gone and quotes start with a demo.

SiftHub

Why it fits: Focused on B2B SaaS presales teams answering DDQs and security questionnaires from existing knowledge, with real-time answers for sales reps.

Who it is for: B2B SaaS presales and revenue teams

Check before buying: Consumption pricing: answers and proposals use transactions at rates that vary with complexity, and there is no free trial.

Tribble

Why it fits: Names software companies such as Salesforce, UiPath and Clari among its customers, and acts as a governed answer layer shared by sales and proposal teams.

Named customers: Salesforce, UiPath, Freshworks, Clari

Check before buying: No public prices, free plan or trial; quotes come on a demo call.

How to choose questionnaire software for a SaaS company

What this list does not prove

A listing here means the vendor’s positioning or named customers point to software companies. It does not confirm support for a specific portal, questionnaire version or connector on your plan. Run one of your own recent questionnaires through the tool.

We list a tool only when its published profile supports the fit, and we publish a page only once at least three tools qualify. Read the research and scoring methodology or send a correction.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best security questionnaire software for SaaS companies?

It depends on who does the work. SiftHub and Realm are built around software presales teams, Arphie and Iris draft from connected sources for sales engineers, and Loopio suits larger teams that want a governed library. Run the same questionnaire through two of them.

Which tools draft answers from Confluence or Google Drive?

Arphie, Inventive AI and 1up each connect to sources such as Google Drive, Confluence, Notion and SharePoint, per their profiles. Check which connectors are included in the plan you would buy.

Do SaaS companies still need an answer library?

They need approved content of some kind. The real choice is between a hand-kept library and answers drafted from connected documents, and it comes down to how often your product facts change and who has time to maintain them.

What is a CAIQ?

The Consensus Assessments Initiative Questionnaire is a security questionnaire from the Cloud Security Alliance, mapped to its Cloud Controls Matrix. Cloud and SaaS providers use it to describe their controls to buyers.

Can reps get security answers without opening the questionnaire tool?

Several tools answer in Slack or Teams from the same approved content, including 1up, Realm and Tribble. That keeps reps from pasting outdated answers into email.

How should a SaaS company trial questionnaire software?

Pick a recent questionnaire your team finished and a new one. Change one product fact in your source documents first, then see whether the drafts pick up the change and flag the old answer.
